Cantine Aperte: wine producers reveal all the secrets

Wine is one of the most loved drinks for Italians and it represents one of the most appreciated Italian products in the world. Maybe because the wine has always been synonymous with sharing mood and joy of life. And how could it be different, given its inimitable flavor and the thousand nuances it has according to the production area?

We will be biased, but Chianti Classico is one of the lands with some of the best Italian labels, for sure. To celebrate the sweet nectar of Bacchus, the association Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana organizes, on the last week end of May, two days of Open Cellars.

Open Cellars 2018

The event supported by Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana is at its 26th edition in 2018, and it is the most appreciated wine event by the great public. Every year, in effect, this chance to taste excellent wines, discover their secrets and wander renown cellars attracts a wide audience. Not only experts in the field, but also couples and wine lovers are looking forward to Cantine Aperte, scheduled on May 26 and 27, 2018.

This year the event has the theme Gustiamo il bello della Toscana (Taste the Beauty of Tuscany): each winery presents and promotes the quintessential beauty of their vineyards to the lucky audience, by way of exception. Are you curious about all the secrets of the Tuscan wine producers?

Beyond the wine

During the two days dedicated to the labels of Siena and surroundings, tastings will be protagonist of course, with the unique flavors and smells of the just opened bottles. However, what interests most the enthusiastic audience is especially the chance to get a glimpse of the winemaking, listening to the stories behind the goblets in their hands. Curiosities, anecdotes, factors distinguishing one variety from one other: all about the world of Bacchus is unrevealed by the wine producers themselves. Open Cellars, as wine tourism in general terms, has transformed in a travel lifestyle, a philosophy and a new way to explore the Tuscan lands. Wine is much more than an intoxicating drink: it is a complex experience, made of culture, tradition, territory and taste.

If you are on holiday in Siena, do not miss the chance to take part in Open Cellars on May 26 and 27: in our area, many wineries partnered with Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana will open their doors to the wine lovers’ audience.
