Siena runs free with the Ultramarathon
The second edition of the Ultramarathon will take people in one of the most charming natural and historical set in Italy: Terre di Siena, where nature and culture mix together creating a unique landscape.
Terre di Siena: where culture mix with nature
A place that includes Siena but also some famous towns in the area. The itinerary is a symbol of the territory in which it takes place: the quadrangle of Tuscany between the towns of San Gimignano, Colle Val d'Elsa, Monteriggioni and Siena. On Sunday, February 28, 2016, thousands of participants, runners and walkers, young and old, professionals and amateurs, will run from the three towns, depending on what kind of itinerary you will do (either 50 km or 32 or 18), ending the race in Siena for the 2nd edition of the Terre di Siena Ultramarathon.
Thanks once again to the organization of the Committee Uisp of Siena with the Municipality of Siena, sponsored by the Province and the municipalities of San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Colle di Val d'Elsa and support Banca Monte Paschi di Siena.
Running Siena
This edition will have three competitive distances: 50 km from San Gimignano, 32 km starting from Colle Val d'Elsa and 18 km starting from Monteriggioni. Three picturesque landscapes and villages of the Unesco World Heritage that are a perfect for a Sunday morning, especially if the season is a good one and the weather is nice.
The three routes will end competitive in the historic center of Siena, where, again on the morning of Sunday, February 28, there will also be time for a walk of about 8 km to the city streets that will end in Piazza del Campo (http://www.hotelathena.com/en/blog-news-siena/item/716-piazza-del-campo-a-magnificent-history.html).
A nice chance for everyone, tourists too, to live Siena through an outdoor activity, good for the health, ending it in one of the local Osteria, eating a dish of hand made Pici. Info
