Siena loves the Mille Miglia

Every time Siena becomes the capital of the motor sport and during the week, the organization put up a lot of events round the town but also in the surroundings, to show up the area. Since 1927, Siena was crossed eighteen times: 1927 to 1937, falling from Florence to Val d'Orcia, then from 1951 to 1957, in the new edition going from Brescia to Rome in South-North direction.

The 2014 program provides the 420 cars, coming from Buonconvento and directed towards Volterra, to arrive in the city entering Porta dell’Arco, and following Via Pier Andrea Mattioli. From here, the crews will reach Piazza del Campo. This year the traditional control to stamp, one of the most appreciated moment by the competitors of the Mille Miglia, will not be placed as a tradition under the Tower of Mangia, but on the opposite side of the square.

After covering the three sides of the famous square, vintage automobiles will travel Rinaldini Street, then the will cover an unpublished city tour of the town, passing in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The exit from the city will take place from Pian dei Mantellini and Via della Diana.
