The room was clean, well supplied and equipped, and with a great view. The bathroom, although small, was modern, clean, and everything worked!
Since we arrived by car, it was great to get the free parking right at the hotel. No other Hotel within the city walls offered parking, as far as I could tell.The folks at the reception desk were very pleasant and helpful, giving good travel advice and restaurant tips.
Breakfast was excellent, and their coffee was great, especially after 12 days of poor coffee on Carnival Destiny. Walking to all attractions and restaurants in the city was easy.
The view from the terrace was breathtaking..
I would recommend the Athena to anyone.Its a great little Hotel.
I booked The Athena as a surprise birthday gift for my Mum who was visiting us for her birthday week. I booked 2 rooms and asked on the request form that the rooms would be swapped as the 'single' room had a double bed in it and the room for me and my husband was a twin room.
We arrived - (easily found if you print off the directions on google maps) early, parked up in their car park and went to reception to ask if we could book in early or at least leave the car where it was (it's a pig to park near to the centre in Siena!). There wasn't a problem with booking in early and the receptionists were great. Although I'd written our request in my 'best Italian' we were about to be given the twin room anyway. I explained what we wanted again and instead of swapping, they just picked up the phone and asked for a queen-bedded room to be made up instead. Simple!
My Mum's room was a little small with a view of the road and the wall opposite, but as walls go, it was quite pretty! She said that the bed was a little bit hard, but it was nice to have a double bed to stretch out in. The bathroom was fine with all that you'd need there incl slippers.
Our room was lovely, it was opposite Mum's and had views across the countryside and looked towards the city walls too. Big room, comfy bed and the bathroom same as Mum's.

Muy buena ubicación dentro de la ciudad amurallada, excelente si se esta viajando con Auto ya que posee estacionamiento. La atención prestada en la recepción fué la mejor que recibimos en nuestro viaje de 10 días por Italia

L'hotel e' l'ideale per una coppia che come noi ha girato "a piedi" per la città, poichè e' veramente vicino a tutte le pricipali attrazioni(neanche 10min.da Piazza del Campo e Duomo)ed ha vicino ottime trattorie ed osterie (vedi CICE e NONNA GINA)dove sicuramente si risparmia rispetto ai ristoranti e si possono degustare prelibatezze toscane .L'hotel ha una graziosissima nonche' romantica terrazza panoramica dove nelle giornate di sole ci puo' rilassare dopo una lunga camminata per la citta' e ne terremo sicuramente conto per un prossimo viaggio a Siena.

La posizione dell'hotel dal centro e il parcheggio privato sono impagabili. La camera si lascia alle 12 e cio' permette un comodo risveglio e la possibilita' di pranzare fuori usufruendo del posto auto. Disponibilità e cortesia alla reception.
